Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Carroll University women's tennis team began its 2024 Spring Break trip with a 7-2 loss to Saint Mary's College (IN) in a non-conference match on Monday afternoon.

It was the first of three scheduled non-conference duals at Hilton Head Resort for Carroll, which dropped to 6-8 overall.

The No. 3 doubles team of Kaitlin Brandl and Madison Ostrander earned a hard-fought victory for the Pioneers, defeating the Saint Mary's tandem of Hannah Gerner and Grace Clearwater 8-6.

The Pioneers' other team point came at number six singles, where Makayla Counsell defeated Gerner 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-7).

Carroll No. 1 singles player Natasha Pupovac lost a tough battle in three sets, falling to Alayna Campbell 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9).

Carroll is next in action versus The College of Wooster on Tuesday at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time).
