WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's tennis team saw their 2023-24 campaign come to an end Thursday afternoon with a 5-1 loss to Wheaton (IL) in the Quarterfinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament, which was hosted by the Pioneers.
The Pios' lone team point came at number one doubles, where All-Conference selections
Adrian Gomez and
Daniel Ezcurra teamed up to defeat Wheaton's top team of Jack Booker and Cody Ching. The other doubles matches were also competitive, with Carroll's number two team of
Andrew LaBelle and
Felix Persson falling by a score of 8-6 and the Pios' number three team of
Ryan LaBelle and
David Eman dropping their match by an 8-3 margin.
In singles play, Wheaton won at the number three, four, and five flights, with the other three flights unfinished.
