Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pioneers Suffer First Loss of the Season

WHEATON, Ill. - Carroll's women's soccer team fell to Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) by a score of 3-1 Saturdday night, handing the Pios their first setback of the season on the final day of the Bob Baptista Invitational, hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) College. Despite the final result, Carroll still out-shot MSOE by a 16-9 margin.

MSOE (XX) started the scoring in the 13th minute when Claire Bradford scored her third goal of the season on a Penalty Kick. The Raiders would add another goal in the 26th minute, off the foot of Kit Gormley, to give them a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Carroll's Mari Sagstad got the Pioneers on the board in the 73rd minute with her team-leading third goal of the season, to cut the lead in half. MSOE would get some breathing room less than a minute later however, when Elizabeth Kuhn capped the scoring with a goal in the 74th minute.

Page Sanchez played the entire game at Goal Keeper for MSOE, making seven saves. Carroll's Caitlin Fitzsimons also played all 90 minutes, recording four saves.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll travel to Simpson College. That game will begin at 5 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa.
