MEQUON, WI - Carroll Men's Soccer battled the Falcons of Concordia (Wis.) to a draw on Saturday night in the battle for the Oktoberfest Cup. Concorda (WI) (0-2-2-) retained the Cup from last season. Carroll (3-1-1) held a 14-10 shot advantage over the Falcons, with four shots on goal in the contest. 

Both teams got multiple good looks in the first half, before the Falcons were the first team to break through, with a goal in the 39th minute from freshman Logan Walker. Carroll forced the hand of the Falcons on two attempts in the opening half, neither of which found their way to the back of the net. The Falcon goal carried them into the locker room with a 1-0 halftime lead. 

Carroll found the back of the net in crunch-time, with Matthew Meke scoring off a Josh Gonzaga assist in the 76th minute. The goal was Meke's second of the season and Gonzaga's third assist.

Jason Brunger earned the start and played all 90 minutes in the net for the Pios, recording one save and allowing one goal. 

Carroll returns to action on Wednesday, September 18, when they host the Foresters of Lake Forest College at 7 p.m..
