LA CROSSE, WI – Carroll dropped an out-of-conference duel with the Eagles of UW-La Crosse on Sunday afternoon, but made strides toward the upcoming ITA tournament.

The Pioneers (1-4 0-3 CCIW) made the trip to La Crosse to battle the Eagles of UW-Lacrosse (6-0 4-0 WIAC) on a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon. The Eagles got off to a hot start and the Pioneers looked to cool them down. Carroll's doubles team of Kate Trifilio and Natasa Pupovac faced two match points to claim a victory. Ultimately, they fell to Tasha Bailey and Shelby Roth 6-7 3-7.

After the Eagles claimed all three doubles matches Carroll looked to singles to bolster them. Natasa Pupovac at one singles fell 4-6 2-6 to senior Tasha Bailey. In her first singles match of the year at the four spot, junior Erin Horzewski fell to senior Emma Heinert 1-6 2-6. The Pioneers ultimately fell 0-7 to the Eagles.

Carroll falls to 1-4 on the season, but they look to continue fighting in a rivalry match against Carthage on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
