DUBUQUE, Iowa - For the second consecutive season, Carroll's women's soccer team battled an undefeated Loras squad that entered the contest ranked in the top 20 in NCAA Division-III. Unlike last year, when the Pioneers earned a shutout victory, Carroll was on the other side of a shutout Saturday night, falling to the 16th-ranked Duhawks by a score of 1-0. Loras also held an 18-4 shot advantage, including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Much like last year's meeting, the two teams entered the second half in a scoreless tie. That lasted until the 75th minute when Reagan Lindsay found the back of the net for her first goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Bella Scesniak. That would be all the offense the Duhawks (7-0-0) would need.
Caitlin Fitzsimons played the entire game at Goal Keeper for Carroll (1-4-2), making three saves. Loras Goal Keeper Kyndal Kells also played all 90 minutes, recording one save.
This game marked Carroll's final game of a seven-game road trip to begin the season. The Pioneers will play in front of their home fans for the first time this season Tuesday night, when they'll host Beloit College at 5 p.m.
