WAUKESHA, Wis. - After a string of seven consecutive road games to start the season, Carroll's women's soccer team finally played in front of their home fans Tuesday night, sending them home happy with a 1-0 Carroll victory. The Pioneers also out-shot the Buccaneers by a 19-1 margin, including 14-1 in shots on goal.
The lone goal of the night came at the onset of the game, as
Brielle Ingalsbee scored her first goal of the season, on an assist from
Mari Sagstad, just four minutes into the contest. From there, Carroll's defense took over, constantly applying pressure and changing possession at crucial times.
Carroll Goal Keeper
Caitlin Fitzsimons played all 90 minutes, making one save. Her counterpart Maya Betzler also played the entire game for Beloit, recording 13 saves, with many coming in spectacular fashion.
The Pioneers will be in action again on Saturday when they'll host #15 North Central (IL) in their conference opener. That game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Schneider Stadium, and will be sandwiched between Carroll's football game against Wheaton (IL), and the Pios' men's soccer game against North Central (IL).
