FINAL RESULTS
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's and women's swim teams hosted a dual meet against Loras Saturday afternoon, with the Pio men coming away victorious, 82-64, while Carroll's women narrowly fell to the Duhawks 102-96.
The Pioneers' men's team finished the day with six first-place finishes, including a pair of relays. Eddie McConnaha highlighted Carroll's day with a pair of event wins, earning the victory in both the 200 freestyle (1:53.91) and 100 freestyle (48.39). McConnaha also swam the anchor leg on Carroll's 400 Medley Relay, teaming up with
Thomas Rynne,
Jacob Rossi, and
Gavin Buechel to swim a time of 3:48.06. Rossi added a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle (22.66), while Rynne won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:12.77. Rossi also teamed up with LeRoux Griggs,
Matthew Hansen, and
Gavin Buechel to place first in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:41.13).
On the women's side, Carroll earned five first-place finishes, including one relay.
Josie Peterson led the way with event wins in both the 50 freestyle (24.32) and 500 freestyle (5:35.04), while also swimming the anchor leg on the Pios' 400 Freestyle Relay team (3:56.63).
Chopper Ceshker and
Kelly Gordon also each won an event, placing first in the 1650 freestyle (20:55.94) and 200 IM (2:31.42), respectively.
Carroll will be in action again on Friday when they'll host MSOE at 6 p.m. from Van Male Natatorium in Waukesha, Wis. That meet will also double as the Pios' Senior Night, as it will be the team's final home meet of the season.
