WAUKESHA, Wis. – Carroll University football delivered a statement win Saturday afternoon, rolling past Elmhurst College 47–7 on an overcast and rainy day at Schneider Stadium in a dominant CCIW performance. The Pioneers improved to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Carroll controlled the game with a relentless ground attack and opportunistic defense, rushing for 316 yards and four touchdowns while forcing five Elmhurst turnovers. Running backs Reed Breckheimer and Mikey Coleman powered the offense, combining for 286 yards and four scores. Breckheimer finished with 130 yards and three touchdowns, while Coleman added 156 yards and a 46-yard score.
Quarterback Charlie King managed the game efficiently, and kicker Matthew Swink contributed a 32-yard field goal and went 6-for-6 on PATs. Defensively, Carroll was lights out, recording three interceptions, including a 67-yard pick-six by Amarrion Bridges, and a 25-yard fumble return touchdown by Jonah Miller. The Pioneers also posted three sacks and eight tackles for loss.
Elmhurst struck first in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run by Jeffery Elms, but Carroll's defense and special teams took over from there. A blocked punt for a safety swung momentum, and the Pioneers scored 31 unanswered points in the second half, capped by two defensive touchdowns in the final minutes.
This win was pivotal for Carroll, not only avenging last year's loss to Elmhurst but also keeping postseason hopes alive in the CCIW race. From the opening drive, the Pioneers played with urgency and physicality, setting the tone for a convincing victory.
Carroll returns to action Saturday, November 1, as they host #1 North Central in another key conference matchup. Kickoff is set for noon.
