Carroll Women Earn Narrow Win; Men Fall to MSOE in Dual Meet

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University hosted Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in a spirited dual meet at Schneider Pool on Saturday, with the women's team earning a hard-fought 113-88 victory while the men's squad fell 157-29.

Women's Highlights (Carroll 113, MSOE 88)

Carroll's depth and relay strength powered the win. The Pioneers opened strong in the 200 Medley Relay, where the A-team of Natalie Oldenburg, Carigan Tabor, Kelly Gordon, and Alexandria Ostopowicz finished second in 2:02.06, just behind MSOE's top squad. Carroll dominated freestyle events, led by Erin Fixen, who captured the 200 Free in 2:08.81, and Clarissa Sharpe, who won the 100 Free in 1:00.38.

Distance standout Carigan Tabor claimed the 1000 Free (12:24.50) and later the 500 Free (6:04.83), while Addison Wherley added key points with a runner-up finish in the 500 Free (6:16.47). In the 200 IM, Carroll swept the top two spots with Gordon (2:28.92) and Hannah Arce (2:31.05).

The meet concluded with a decisive win in the 200 Free Relay, as Oldenburg, Ostopowicz, Sharpe, and Morgan Toupal combined for a 1:48.74 finish, sealing the team victory.

Men's Highlights (MSOE 157, Carroll 29)

Despite the team loss, Carroll posted several strong swims. Jacob Rossi placed second in the 50 Free (22.88), while Jonah Lotegeluaki earned runner-up honors in the 100 Free (52.54) and added a fifth-place finish in the 200 Free. Thomas Rynne led Carroll in the 100 Back, taking third in 1:01.41, and contributed to the 200 Medley Relay squad that finished third (1:46.37).

Carroll closed the meet with a highlight in the 200 Free Relay, where the quartet of Gavin Buechel, Rossi, Eli Griggs LeRoux, and Lotegeluaki out-touched MSOE's A-team for first place in 1:33.27—the Pioneers' lone event win on the men's side.

Carroll returns to action on October 25th as they travel to Oshkosh for a dual with the Titans.
