DE PERE, Wis. – Carroll women's basketball picked up its first win of the 2025-26 season with a dominant 75-48 victory over St. Norbert on Saturday afternoon at the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
Carroll (1-1) came out firing, shooting 66.7 percent in the opening quarter to build a 27-16 lead. Junior guard Julia Lokker scored 10 points in the first period, including a three-pointer, while Emilie Wizner added two triples to spark the offense. The Pioneers extended their advantage to 41-27 at halftime behind balanced scoring and a defense that forced 11 first-half turnovers.
St. Norbert (0-2) made a brief push early in the third quarter, trimming the margin to single digits after an Olivia Conway three-pointer. Carroll responded with a 9-0 run capped by a Wizner trey to restore control. The Pioneers outscored the Green Knights 19-11 in the fourth quarter to seal the win, pushing the lead to as many as 27 points in the final minute.
Carroll shot 48.1 percent (26-54) from the field and 50 percent (10-20) from three-point range, while converting 68.4 percent (13-19) at the free-throw line. Wizner led all scorers with 22 points, hitting six threes, and added two assists. Lokker finished with 18 points, five rebounds, and three steals, and Anna Nielsen contributed nine points, eight boards, and four assists.
St. Norbert was held to 29.6 percent (16-54) shooting and 25 percent (4-16) from beyond the arc. Avery Bierowski paced the Green Knights with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Kat Miller added eight points.
Additionally, Emilie Wizner and Julia Lokker were named to the Nicolet National Bank All-Tournament Team for their performances over the two games. With a close loss to one of the top teams and a commanding victory, the Pioneers have already shown the team they can be.
The Pioneers will look to keep the momentum going when they return home to face Beloit on Wednesday at Van Male Field House. Tip is scheduled for 5pm.
