ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Vanessa Uitenbroek and
Maria Falk represented Carroll University well at Saturday's NCAA Division-III Indoor Championships, as both student-athletes earned All-American honors in the shot put with the required top-eight finish out of the 20 competitors in that event.
Uitenbroek finished third in the event for the second consecutive season. A National runner-up in the event, Uitenbroek capped off an outstanding career with her fourth consecutive All-American performance in that event, and sixth total in her distinguished career. Her top distance Saturday of 14.75 (48-04.75) came on her fifth attempt and goes down as a season-best for the Kaukauna, Wis. native.
Falk finished eighth in Saturday's event, earning the final All-American spot, which marks the first of her career. Her best throw came on her third attempt, which traveled 14.05m (46-01.25) for a lifetime-best.
The Pioneers' men's and women's track & field teams will now prepare for the 2025 Outdoor season, which will begin April 5 at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wis.
