FINAL RESULTS
WAUKEGAN, Ill. - For the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years, Carroll's women's bowling team has qualified for the CCIW Tournament. The Pioneers achieved that feat over the weekend by finishing third out of seven teams at the CCIW Regular Seaosn Meet #2.
In Saturday's Tournament qualifying round, Carroll began the day with an 846-802 loss to Elmhurst. The Pios followed that up with an 885-781 loss to Aurora, before defeating both Augustana (IL) (902-855) and Carthage (842-763).
Sunday's Baker rounds saw Carroll go 2-0 with wins over Illinois Wesleyan (775-533) and Marian (Wis.) (911-855), giving them a 4-2 record on the weekend. The Pios finished with an average of 165.5 pins per game.
Individually, Carroll Junior
Hannah Bartlett finished sixth with a four-game total of 744, which was just one pin shy of the fifth-place bowler. Fellow Pio, Sophomore
Ava Butt, finished seventh overall with a four-game total of 735.
Samantha Sciortino and
Hope Minett finished 18th and 19th, respectively, with four game totals of 653 and 645, while
Allyson Will rounded out Carroll's team score with a two-game total of 254.
Carroll will now be the number two seed in the 2025 CCIW Tournament, which will take place on March 22-23 at Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont, Ill. They will face third-seeded Aurora in their first match, before playing either #1 Marian or #4 Elmhurst in their second match.
