WAUKESHA, Wis. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual Academic All-District® Team, with Carroll University's at-large programs earning seven honorees in recognition of their excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Representing the Pioneers were senior Mathias Werring (Oslo, Norway) and sophomore Fernando Cirajas (Rio Grande, Spain) of the men's golf team, senior Lauren Lostetter (Lake Mills, Wisconsin) and junior Tessa Lawson (Rockford, Illinois) of the women's golf team, along with junior Ava Butt (Wautoma, Wisconsin), sophomore Allyson Will (Greenfield, Wisconsin), and sophomore Samantha Sciortino (Mundelein, Illinois) of the women's bowling program.
Werring caps off his collegiate career with Academic All-District honors after serving as a key contributor for the men's golf program. His consistent performances and leadership on the course have been matched by a strong commitment to his academic work.
Cirajas continues to emerge as an important piece of the Pioneers' lineup, earning recognition for his efforts both competitively and in the classroom during his sophomore campaign. His selection highlights his well-rounded development as a student-athlete.
Lostetter earns the distinction following an impressive senior season with the women's golf program. A steady presence in the lineup throughout her career, she has balanced her competitive success with continued academic excellence.
Lawson's selection reflects her continued growth and reliability for the Pioneers. This was her second consectutive selection, highlighting her as a key contributor for the women's golf team on the course while maintaining a strong academic profile too.
Butt secured her second Academic All-District recognition after playing a pivotal role for the women's bowling program. After capturing her second CCIW Player of the Year selection and helping the Pioneers to their first tournament win in program history, her dedication and work ethic have been evident both in competition and in the classroom.
Will adds to the Pioneers' list of honorees with her selection, recognized for her contributions to the program and her commitment to academic achievement during her sophomore season, which saw her contribute in the postseason as well.
Sciortino rounds out the group, earning the honor after contributing to the success of the women's bowling team while excelling academically. Her efforts exemplify the balance of athletic and academic success recognized by the award.
The CSC Academic All-District® Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically. Honorees advance to the ballot for CSC Academic All-America® consideration, with national selections announced later this spring.
