Carroll Women’s Bowling Set for NCAA Lansing Regional

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll women's bowling will open postseason play next week as the Pioneers head to Lansing, Michigan, for the Lansing Regional of the 2026 National Collegiate Women's Bowling Championship, which begins Thursday, April 2 at 9am.

Carroll is one of 19 teams selected to the NCAA's double-elimination championship field and will compete in the Lansing Regional from April 2–4, with a berth in the national semifinals on the line. The Pioneers will face Fayetteville State in the Opening Round on Thursday morning, with the winner advancing to face No. 1 overall seed Jacksonville State in the first round of regional play on Friday.

The Lansing Regional features a challenging mix of conference champions and at-large selections, with Jacksonville State entering as the top overall seed in the tournament and the No. 1 team in the NCAA RPI rankings. Youngstown State and North Carolina A&T round out the regional field alongside Carroll and Fayetteville State, setting up a demanding path through the bracket.

Carroll enters the postseason led by one of the most accomplished lineups in program history, highlighted by Ava Butt, who was named Co-CCIW Player of the Year after another standout season at the top of the lineup. Butt has been a steady force for the Pioneers all season, combining scoring power, consistency, and leadership in pressure situations against nationally ranked competition.

The Pioneers have also been bolstered by the emergence of Miley Brooks, the CCIW First-Year Player of the Year, who has made an immediate impact in her debut collegiate season. Brooks has shown poise beyond her years, stepping into high-leverage frames and delivering key performances that have added depth and flexibility to Carroll's lineup.

Another key contributor has been Samantha Sciortino, who has delivered strong play throughout the spring and established herself as one of the most reliable spare shooters in the country. Sciortino ranks among the top spare-percentage converters across all divisions, providing consistency and stability that has been critical in baker and elimination formats.

That balance across the lineup has been a defining trait of Carroll's season. The Pioneers have relied on depth, strong spare shooting, and the ability to adjust quickly across formats — all essential qualities in a regional setting that demands precision and endurance over multiple days.

Regional play continues Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, with the final regional survivor advancing to the national semifinals on Friday, April 10. The national championship match is scheduled for Saturday, April 11.

This postseason appearance caps a monumental season for Carroll women's bowling, as the Pioneers captured the first conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth in program history. While expectations within the program were high entering the year, Carroll has far surpassed them and will look to continue its remarkable run on the national stage in Lansing.
