CHICAGO, Ill. - Carroll's women's lacrosse team battled University of Chicago Saturday afternoon, ultimately losing to the Maroons by a score of 19-4. Chicago also held a 34-15 shot advantage in the contest.
Chicago (7-4) wasted little time, scoring seven goals in the opening quarter, before adding five more in the second to build a 12-0 halftime lead. After five more goals in the third period, the Maroons entered the final frame with a 17-0 lead. Carroll (6-3) would get on the board on a
Rebecca Hallman goal with 12 minutes remaining in the game. After Chicago scored once more, Hallman added her second score of the game with nine minutes on the clock.
Elizabeth Wang and
Abby Stas would each score a goal later in the fourth, before Chicago capped the scoring on a goal with 20 seconds remaining.
The Pioneers will try to rebound on April 9 when they'll begin their conference season against Carthage College. That game will begin at 6 p.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
