BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Carroll men's lacrosse (5-9, 0-4 CCIW) concluded their 2025 campaign with a road trip to Bloomington, Ill. on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan by a score of 26-7. Carroll took 41 shots in the game, which is the most of any CCIW contest this season. Illinois Wesleyan (12-2, 4-0 CCIW) had 69 looks at goal, the most by a Carroll opponent in the last two seasons.
Illinois Wesleyan started the game hot, jumping to a 9-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of game action. In the closing minutes of the first period, Brady Conwell and Brady Mollsen both scored unassisted goals to cut into the lead. Another Conwell goal and assist to Declan McMahon marked the two times Carroll found the back of the net before halftime, as the Titans held a 15-4 advantage at the break. Carroll was blanked in the third period, but Conwell recorded scored his third and fourth goals of the contest while Jake Kopocis tacked on another to round out Carroll's fourth quarter scoring attack.
Carroll Goal Keeper Jake Gehl earned the start, making 16 saves for the second time in as many games three quarters and change between the pipes. Jonas Malmanger closed the game in the net for Carroll and recorded fives saves in the final ten minutes.
Carroll concludes the 2025 season with a tie for the second-most victories in a season at five. With 41 points this season, sophomore Brady Conwell has moved into second-all time in career points with 85, trailing Jeff Schultz (2017-20) by just 11 points. Conwell has also moved into second in program history with 44 goals and counting. Goalkeeper Jake Gehl is closing in on the program record for career saves as well, needing only 44 to become the all-time leader in the statistics. Carroll does not lose any players to graduation, and will have a returning roster loaded with skill and experience.
