WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's soccer team faced one of their toughest opponents of the season Sunday afternoon, playing seventh-ranked UW-Eau Claire evenly for much of the day, before losing to the Blugolds 2-0. UW-EC also out-shot the Pios by a 13-3 margin, while also earning a 13-3 advantage in corner kicks.

UW-Eau Claire started the scoring in the 26th minute when Ramzi Ouro found the back of the net on an assist from Alek Laroi.

That's where the score would remain until under five minutes remaining in the second half when Noah Malcook scored on an open netter to secure the victory for the Blugolds.

Jason Brunger played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Pioneers, making four saves on the day. His counterpart, Charlie Mroz, also played the entire game, making one save for UW-EC.

Carroll will be in action again on Friday when they'll host the College of St. Scholastica. That game will begin at 7 p.m. from Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wis.
