Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pioneers Push Forward but Fall Short in Road Test at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Carroll University men's soccer put forth a determined effort on Saturday afternoon but fell 2-0 to Colorado College at Stewart Field. Despite the final score, the Pioneers (3-3-0) showcased resilience and depth throughout the match.

Carroll generated nine shots, including a strong early attempt from Matthew Meke that forced a save just three minutes into the contest. Iskander Sharipov and Henry Picard also contributed to the attacking pressure in the first half, with Picard narrowly missing wide in the 24th minute.

The Pioneers' midfield, led by Nico Hinten and Alec Behringer, worked tirelessly to maintain possession and create opportunities. Behringer's second-half shot sailed high, while Marti Solanelles and Sheridan Joseph each had efforts blocked as Carroll pushed for an equalizer.

Defensively, goalkeeper Uriel Garcia made three saves and remained composed under pressure, especially during a flurry of second-half chances from the Tigers. Nathan Patzer and Jackson Greear anchored the back line, helping limit Colorado College to just six shots on target despite their 15 total attempts.

Carroll's bench also played a key role, with multiple substitutions injecting energy into both halves. Andy Sanchez, Max Pusic, and Ignacio Sanz were among those who contributed valuable minutes, while the team continued to battle until the final whistle.

Though the result didn't favor the Pioneers, the match highlighted the team's depth, work ethic, and ability to compete against a strong opponent on the road. Carroll will look to regroup and build on the positives as they prepare for their next contest at home against Lake Forest College on September 23rd at 4:30pm.
