BELOIT, Wis. - Carroll University women's soccer delivered a commanding performance on the road Monday evening, defeating Beloit College 3-0 at Strong Soccer Field.
The Pioneers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, netting two goals within the first 11 minutes of play. Midfielder Carmella Nowak opened the scoring in the 10th minute with an unassisted strike, her fourth goal of the season. Less than a minute later, forward Ellie Patrickus doubled the lead with her second goal of the year, also unassisted.
Carroll added a third goal in the 37th minute when Naomy Gonzalez found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal, capping off a dominant first half.
The Pioneers outshot the Buccaneers 19-9, including an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal. Carroll also earned six corner kicks while holding Beloit to none. Goalkeeper Nevaeh Darby recorded six saves to secure the shutout in a dominating back line performance.
Kiara Andrewin led the team with five shots, four of which were on target, while Nowak and Patrickus each contributed two shots and a goal.
With the win, Carroll improves to 2-1-3 on the season. The Pioneers will look to carry their momentum into their next match as they continue non-conference play on September 23rd as they return home to Schneider Stadium as they face UW-Platteville at 7pm.
