Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Carroll Falls to St. Olaf in Non-Conference Match

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University Men's Soccer faced a tough challenge on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-0 to St. Olaf at Schneider Stadium in a physical and fast-paced non-conference matchup.

The Pioneers held their own through the first half, keeping the game scoreless despite sustained pressure from the Oles. Goalkeeper Jason Brunger made several key saves to keep Carroll in the match early, finishing with nine saves on the day.

St. Olaf broke through in the second half, scoring five unanswered goals. The first came in the 48th minute from Abdirasak Bulale, followed by a strike from Dimitri Nair just four minutes later. An own goal in the 64th minute extended the deficit, and late goals from Willy Vargas Jr. and Kymani Chitulangoma sealed the result.

Carroll managed 13 shots, four of which were on target, but couldn't find the back of the net. Matthew Meke and Marti Solanelles led the attack with multiple attempts, while Brunger's performance in goal remained a bright spot.

With the loss, Carroll drops to 2-2 on the season. The team will look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing at Marian University in Fond Du Lac at 7pm on Wednesday (9/10) as they hope to build momentum heading into conference play.
