#21 Carroll Pulls Away Late From Millikin

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Carroll used a dominant fourth quarter to pull away for an 82–64 victory over Millikin in Saturday's CCIW matchup at Van Male Field House. The Pioneers led wire-to-wire, building a double-digit advantage early and sealing their tenth win of the season with a balanced offensive effort.

Carroll jumped out to a 19–12 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 41–35 at halftime, paced by 16 first-half points from Natalie Gricius. The Pioneers shot 50% from the field and 80% from the free throw line, with six different players connecting from beyond the arc.

Millikin kept the game close through three quarters, but Carroll erupted for 25 points in the fourth, stretching the lead to as many as 19. Gricius scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the way, while Emilie Wizner added 19 points and Julia Lokker chipped in 13. Carroll's bench contributed 13 points, and the team tallied 20 assists on 30 made field goals.

Defensively, Carroll forced 13 Millikin turnovers and converted them into 22 points. The Pioneers dominated the paint with 46 points inside and held a slight edge on the boards, 29–30.

Millikin was led by Bella Dudley's 32 points, but Carroll's balanced attack and defensive pressure proved decisive.

With the win, Carroll improves to 10–4 overall and 4–1 in conference play. The Pioneers will travel to North Central on Wednesday for their next CCIW contest.
