Fourth-Quarter Surge Lifts Carroll Past North Park, 64–42

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Carroll women's basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure a 64–42 road win over North Park on Tuesday night at Carlson Gymnasium.

The Pioneers and Vikings were tied at 10–10 after the opening quarter, and Carroll held a narrow 25–22 advantage at halftime following a balanced second period. Carroll continued to build momentum in the third, extending its lead to 41–36, before taking full control of the game in the final 10 minutes.

Carroll outscored North Park 23–6 in the fourth quarter, shooting 75 percent from the field while forcing multiple turnovers that led to transition opportunities. The defensive effort limited the Vikings to just three made field goals in the final period.

Natalie Gricius led all scorers with 31 points, finishing 13-of-23 from the field while adding three steals. Emilie Wizner chipped in 12 points and five assists, while Katie Barger grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with four assists. Ryann Wendt added six points and provided steady defensive pressure throughout the night.

Carroll finished the game shooting 49 percent from the floor and held a 42–26 advantage in points in the paint. The Pioneers also forced 26 turnovers, converting them into 27 points.

With the win, Carroll improved to 19–4 overall and 13–1 in CCIW play, continuing its push toward the postseason as they head to Millikin this Saturday with tip scheduled for 2pm.
