DECATUR, Ill. – Carroll University women's basketball put together a dominant performance on both ends of the floor, rolling to an 84–46 victory over Millikin on Saturday afternoon at the Griswold P.E. Center.
The Pioneers took control early and never looked back, building a 19–12 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 36–22 at halftime. Carroll continued to pull away after the break, outscoring the Big Blue 26–12 in the third quarter to push the margin past 20 and effectively put the game out of reach.
Carroll shot an efficient 52.5 percent from the field and finished with a 38-point margin, its largest lead coming late in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers also forced turnovers that led to 36 points, while holding Millikin to 34.7 percent shooting for the game.
Emilie Wizner led all scorers with 28 points, knocking down six three-pointers to pace the Carroll offense. Natalie Gricius added 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, while Julia Lokker finished with 11 points. Ryann Wendt and Katie Barger each contributed seven points as Carroll placed multiple players in double figures.
The Pioneers controlled the glass with a 35–31 rebounding edge and finished with advantages in points in the paint (36–18), second-chance points (17–4), and fast-break scoring (10–0).
Carroll improved to 20–4 overall and 14–1 in conference play with the win, while Millikin fell to 8–15 on the season. Carroll's final regular season matchup comes at some next Saturday against Carthage with tip at 2pm, where the Pioneers will be riding a 12-game win streak into senior day.
