Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Carroll Falls to Lawrence, 9–5

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carroll University men's lacrosse team dropped a 9–5 decision to Lawrence on Tuesday night at Schneider Stadium. The Pioneers kept the game within reach throughout, but Lawrence's early offensive burst and late fourth-quarter goals proved decisive.

Lawrence jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the opening quarter before Carroll got on the board with a goal from Zach Szuba to make it 3–1 late in the period. The Vikings added two more goals early in the second quarter to extend the margin, but Carroll answered with a goal from Brady Conwell to cut the deficit to 5–2 at the half.

The Pioneers showed resilience coming out of the break, converting on an extra-man opportunity early in the third quarter when Brady Mollsen scored to pull Carroll within 5–3. Lawrence responded with a late goal in the period to take a 6–3 advantage into the fourth.

Carroll continued to battle in the final frame, tallying two more man-up goals as Mollsen and Conwell each found the back of the net. However, Lawrence capitalized on key possessions and added three goals in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Mollsen and Conwell led Carroll offensively with two goals apiece, while Szuba added the Pioneers' other tally. Carroll finished with 32 shots and converted three of seven extra-man opportunities. Goalkeeper Jonas Malmanger recorded 11 saves in net, keeping Carroll competitive despite Lawrence's 34-shot output.

Carroll will look to regroup as it continues non-conference play later this week as they travel to Benedictine to play on Saturday at 1pm.
