Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Carroll Rolls Past Augustana, 75–55, for 10th Straight Home Win

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll Women's Basketball continued its dominant stretch with a 75–55 victory over Augustana on Wednesday afternoon, powered by a balanced offensive attack and another strong defensive showing. The Pioneers never trailed in the game, building a double-digit lead in the first quarter and maintaining full control the rest of the way.

Carroll set the tone early with a 20–10 first-quarter advantage, fueled by efficient scoring from Natalie Gricius, Julia Lokker, and Ryann Wendt. The Pioneers pushed the margin to 41–23 by halftime, shooting 45.2% from the field over the opening 20 minutes while holding Augustana to just 36% shooting.

The Vikings made minor pushes in the third quarter, but Carroll's depth and consistent execution prevented any significant momentum shift. The Pios closed the game with a 21-point fourth quarter and built their largest lead of the night — 28 points — with just over three minutes remaining.

Gricius continued her outstanding senior campaign, finishing with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Lokker delivered one of her most dynamic outings of the season with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Emilie Wizner added nine points and three assists, and Katie Barger anchored the interior with 10 rebounds and eight points. Carroll shot 45.2% from the floor and knocked down seven threes in the win.

Defensively, the Pioneers were excellent, forcing 16 Augustana turnovers and turning them into 13 points. Carroll also dominated transition opportunities, outscoring the Vikings 12–0 on the break, and controlled the paint with a 34–30 scoring edge inside.

Augustana was led by Giulia Milazzo with 13 points, while Cali Papez and Tia Lewis each added 10. But the Vikings struggled from beyond the arc, finishing just 2-of-18 (11.1%) from three.

With the victory, Carroll improves to 18–4 overall and 12–1 in the CCIW, continuing to strengthen its position near the top of the conference standings. Their next matchup comes Wednesday when they head to Chicago to take on North Park with tip scheduled for 7pm.
