This week's "Pios of the Week" for the week ending 2/1 are Freshman Cady Carlson of Women's Track and Field, and Freshman Carlos Cadet of Men's Track and Field, for their performances over the past weekend at the Tadd Metzger Invitational.

Carlos Cadet – Freshman – Jumps/Hurdles

Freshman Carlos Cadet, from Saint Albans, NY,  delivered one of the top all-around performances of the weekend at the Tadd Metzger Invite, posting major points for the Pioneers in both the hurdles and horizontal jumps. Cadet opened his day with a strong showing in the 55-meter hurdles, placing second overall in 8.22. He then followed with a standout effort in the long jump, taking third with a leap of 6.83m (22-05.00). Cadet capped his day with a breakthrough performance in the triple jump, winning the event with a massive personal-best mark of 14.59m (47-10.50)—a result that currently ranks No. 13 in NCAA Division III this season and was a Pioneer All-Time Record. His combination of PRs, podium finishes, and a nationally ranked mark anchored an impressive scoring output for the Carroll men.

Cadence Carlson – Freshman – Sprints

First-year sprinter Cadence Carlson, from Sturgeon Bay, WI, continued her strong collegiate debut season with a meet-winning performance at the Tadd Metzger Invite. Carlson claimed the 400-meter title in commanding fashion, running 1:00.57 for a new personal record while securing 10 crucial team points. She later contributed a key leg on the Pioneers' winning 4x400-meter relay, helping the squad post a season-best 4:08.67 to close out the meet. Carlson's consistency, point production, and continued progression paced a strong weekend for the Carroll women's squad.
