Carroll Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Illinois Wesleyan in Conference Action

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carroll University women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance Friday afternoon, cruising to a 22–3 victory over Illinois Wesleyan in CCIW action at Waukesha.

Carroll controlled the game from the opening draw, scoring seven goals in the first quarter to quickly build separation. The Pioneers followed with eight more goals in the second quarter, taking a commanding 15–1 lead into halftime and setting the tone for the remainder of the contest.

Offensively, Carroll was led by Elaina Phaneuf, who recorded six goals, while Elizabeth Wang added five goals and three assists. Sierra Skack and Paige Helms each finished with three goals, with Skack also contributing two assists. Rebecca Hallman added three goals of her own, and McKenzie DeFord chipped in two goals, including one on a free-position opportunity.

Carroll continued its strong play in the second half, scoring three goals in the third quarter and four more in the fourth while maintaining control on both ends of the field. The Pioneers finished with a 45–11 advantage in shots, won 17 draw controls, and were perfect on clears (19-for-19).

In goal, Devon Duym earned the win, allowing one goal and making four saves in the first half. Hannah McKenna closed out the game in the second half, surrendering two goals while keeping Illinois Wesleyan off the board for extended stretches.

The win moves Carroll to 11–2 overall and 2–0 in CCIW play, as the Pioneers continue to build momentum in conference action as they return to the field next Saturday as they host Augustana at 1pm for senior day.
