MADISON, Wis. — The Carroll University women's tennis team earned a 5–2 victory over Edgewood on Sunday morning at TPC Wisconsin, winning the doubles point and securing four singles victories to clinch the match.
Carroll took control early by claiming two of the three doubles matches. The duo of Natasa Pupovac and Mia Franke earned a 6–3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Gracie Niebler and Katherine Trifilio followed with a 6–2 victory at No. 3 to secure the opening point.
In singles play, Carroll continued its momentum with wins across the lineup. At No. 1 singles, Natasa Pupovac earned a straight-set victory, 7–6, 6–2. Katherine Trifilio added another point at No. 2 singles with a 6–4, 6–3 win.
Carroll picked up two more singles victories in tightly contested matches. Makayla Counsell secured a 6–2, 7–5 win at No. 5 singles, while Gracie Niebler battled through a three-set match at No. 6 singles, winning 6–2, 3–6, 11–10.
With the win, Carroll improved to 9–9 overall, continuing to build momentum as the Pioneers head into the final stretch of the spring season, with their next match coming in the CCIW quarterfinals against Augustana on April 23 at 10am in Bloomington, IL.
