KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carroll University women's lacrosse team secured its second straight CCIW regular-season championship on Friday afternoon, rallying for an 8–6 road victory over Carthage at Art Keller Field.

Carroll struck first with a man-up goal from Samantha Hurd, but the host Firebirds responded with a strong second quarter to take a 5–2 lead into halftime. The Pioneers regrouped after the break, using a balanced offensive attack and steady defensive play to flip the momentum.

Elizabeth Wang paced Carroll with three goals, scoring twice in the third quarter to pull the Pioneers within one before adding the game-tying goal early in the fourth. Lauren Fricke followed with a pair of key goals down the stretch, including the eventual game-winner, as Carroll closed the final quarter on a four-goal run.

Additional goals came from Sierra Skack and Elaina Phaneuf, while Skack and Paige Helms each recorded an assist during the late surge. In goal, Devon Duym anchored the defense with seven saves, helping Carroll hold Carthage to just one goal over the final 15 minutes.

With the win, Carroll improved to 14–2 overall and 5–0 in CCIW play, officially locking up the conference's regular-season crown for the second consecutive year.

Carroll will now host the CCIW Tournament as the No. 1 seed, opening postseason play with a semifinal matchup against Illinois Wesleyan, the No. 4 seed, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at home.
