WAUKESHA, Wis. – Carroll University women's volleyball made its 2026 home debut Wednesday night, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College in four sets inside Van Male Field House. After dropping the opening set, the Pioneers responded by winning three straight to secure a 3-1 victory and improve to 3-2 on the season.
Wisconsin Lutheran lost a back-and-forth opening set 25-22, but Carroll quickly flipped the momentum in the second. The Pioneers scored the first nine points of the set, with Audrey Rosenbaum and Kylie Wittnebel helping fuel the early run. Carroll never surrendered control from there, cruising to a 25-15 victory to even the match at one set apiece.
The Pioneers carried that momentum into a dominant third set. Leading 10-6, Carroll rattled off seven consecutive points behind the serving of Samantha Miserendino to open a 17-6 advantage. Carroll continued to pull away, closing the frame with a 25-8 victory. The Pioneers were nearly flawless offensively in the set, recording 14 kills without an attack error on just 19 attempts for a .737 hitting percentage.
Wisconsin Lutheran challenged Carroll again in the fourth, taking a 12-9 advantage before the Pioneers responded. Carroll scored 11 of the next 12 points to turn the three-point deficit into a 20-13 lead. The Pioneers remained in control from there, closing out the set 25-18 to secure their first home victory of the season.
Audrey Rosenbaum led a highly efficient Carroll attack with 17 kills and no errors on 33 attempts, hitting .515 for the match. Carly Hicklin added 14 kills while hitting .464, and Kylie Wittnebel finished with nine kills on 13 attempts for a .692 hitting percentage. Lexi Proctor recorded 21 assists, 11 digs and six kills, while Samantha Miserendino led the Pioneer defense with 21 digs. As a team, Carroll hit .347 with 52 kills and just nine attack errors.
Carroll will return to action Friday, September 11, at the Raider Invite. The Pioneers open a four-match weekend against Benedictine University at 3 p.m.
