WAUKESHA, Wis. - A pair of standout weekend performances earned sophomore defensive lineman August Johansen and sophomore tennis player Mia Franke this week's Pio of the Week honors.

Johansen (Manchester, Mo.) anchored a dominant defensive effort in Carroll's 20-0 victory over Carthage in the 49th Battle for the Old Musket. He finished with six total tackles, including four tackles for loss for 21 yards and three sacks for 19 yards while adding four quarterback hurries. His three sacks helped Carroll tie the program's single-game record with eight sacks as the Pioneers reclaimed the Old Musket and recorded their second consecutive shutout, which is the first time since 2000 Caroll has posted back-to-back shutouts. Carroll's defense held Carthage to just 145 total yards of offense and forced four turnovers in the rivalry victory. His performance helped move the Pioneers to 3-1 on the season and stay undefeated in the CCIW.

Franke (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) led the way for Carroll women's tennis at the Gustie Invite, capturing the Draw 8 singles championship. After opening the tournament with a comeback victory, Franke dominated the remainder of the bracket, posting consecutive 4-0, 4-0 wins in both the quarterfinals and semifinals before earning a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the championship match. She finished the weekend with four singles wins and was the lone Pioneer to claim an individual tournament title, highlighting a strong weekend for the women's tennis program as they now turn their attention back to conference play, looking to continue to climb the standings.
