Billy Swartz

Billy Swartz returns to the Carroll men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2016-2017, this will be his fourth season on staff.

Before joining Carroll, Swartz had a successful tenure as head boys’ basketball coach at Waukesha South High School from 2004-2013. His time at South included a Classic Eight Conference title in 2005-2006. The Blackshirts finished with a record of 18-4 that year, which also included a regional championship and Waukesha County Coach of the Year honors for Swartz.

Swartz has plenty of experience in the Midwest Conference. He was a three-sport standout student-athlete at Ripon College, with two Midwest Conference Championships in men’s soccer and two in men’s basketball. His Red Hawks basketball teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament four times.

He then moved to the bench where he became the head men’s soccer coach and head assistant men’s basketball coach. His soccer teams won a pair of Midwest Conference titles and participated in two NCAA Tournaments. As a Red Hawks player and coach combined, Swartz was a part of six Midwest Championship teams (four for soccer, two for basketball). He was inducted into the Ripon Athletic Hall of Fame.
