Carter Sturgeon began his role as the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant in January of 2023.
Sturgeon brings a joy and enthusiasm to the role of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant. Prior to his current role, Sturgeon worked in Carroll's Athletic department as a general student worker and Athletic Fellow. During his time there he has gain great experience in student work, athletic events, and facility operations.
Over the past few years, Sturgeon has overseen scheduling and conduct with over 150+ student workers a year, along with serving the athletic department as a vital piece to the game day operations for the Pioneers' 23 varsity athletic teams.
Sturgeon was a part of the Carroll men’s basketball team during his time as an undergrad. While on the team, Sturgeon was nominated as a team captain and nominated for “Pio of the Year in a Male Sport”. During his time on the Men’s Basketball team, Sturgeon gained great insight to the day-to-day operations of athletic teams, and what they need to succeed. With this insight Sturgeon looks to bring new and intuitive ideas to the Carroll athletic community, to help enhance the student-athlete experience.
Sturgeon resides in Waukesha.
