The 2025-26 season marks Max Johansen's third as an assistant coach for Carroll's men's basketball team.
Johansen came to Carroll after a three-year stint at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. While at Cardinal Stritch, Johansen was the lead assistant with duties that included recruitment, practice planning, opponent scouting, and travel planning for road games.
Prior to his time at Cardinal Stritch, Johansen served as a graduate assistant coach during the 2018-19 season at the University of Washington, while also gaining experience as an AAU coach ranging from U11-U17. Johansen broke into the coaching ranks as a student manager at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which entailed a lot of behind the scenes work such as travel and camp organization and execution.
A native of Appleton, Wis., Johansen attended Appleton North High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in History and Human Development and Family Studies from UW-Madison in 2018. He then went on to earn his Master's in Education and Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington in 2019.
Johansen currently resides in Franklin, Wis.
