After taking over as the interim head coach early in the 2022-23 season, Taylor Jannsen was hired to take over the Carroll University men's basketball program full time in the spring of 2023.
Since his interim year, Jannsen has now completed three full seasons at Carroll. In his first full season leading the program in 2023-24, Carroll won 14 games, which marked the highest win total the program had seen since rejoining the highly competitive CCIW conference in 2016. The team has also clinched two CCIW post-season berths in the last three seasons. Additionally, Jannsen has coached four players that have received CCIW all-conference honors.
Jannsen began his coaching career after a four-year playing career at Carroll from 2007-11. In his four years as a member of the Carroll University men’s basketball team, Jannsen was a steady presence, contributor, and team captain on teams that compiled a 59-37 record in his four years. After graduating with an Exercise Science degree from Carroll in 2011, Jannsen started PMax Basketball, where he has worked with numerous athletes and teams ranging from youth to professional ranks. Jannsen has more than 12 years of head coaching experience in some of Wisconsin's top AAU organizations.
Outside of basketball, Jannsen has authored two books and has conducted public speaking engagements for schools, charitable organizations, and both small and large businesses.
Jannsen is originally from Pewaukee, WI and currently resides with his wife, Cayla, and their family in Waukesha, WI.
