Box Score TUCSON, Ariz. - Carroll University (1-2) took the opener 8-6 and fell in the second game of the twin bill 10-3 to the Illinois Institute of Technology on Monday afternoon.
Junior righty Kevin Dineen pitched a strong six innings in the opener to record the win. Dineen struck out two while limiting IIT to a single earned run. Zach Wiseman stuck out the final two batters of the game to record his first save of the season.
Alex Olson was a perfect 3x3 at the plate with a stolen base and an RBI.
Freshman Michael Lundeen and Alex Elenteny both finished the game 2x3 with an RBI.

In game two, the Pioneers fell behind early and couldn't recover as they struggled to string together any offense until late in the game.
Chris James took the loss on the mound in his season debut.
One bright spot in game two was freshman Taylor Paepke and Alex Nockerts recording their first collegiate hits in the loss.
Head Coach Stein Rear talked about the loss. "We struggled at times today and had a tough time stringing hits together, especially in game two. Pitching wise we fell behind hitters and issued too many walks in the second game. We continue to play well defensively, but just didn't have a complete effort today."
