Arms Struggle on Final Day in Arizona

Box Score TUCSON, Arizona - Carroll University (3-4) dropped their final game of their spring trip to Macalester College on Saturday afternoon 21-7.

Macalester came out of the gates swinging, hitting a grand slam in the first and scoring seven runs,in the third as they raced out to the 14-0 lead after three and a half innings., Carroll would play the game even from that point forward, but the early deficit would prove impossible to overcome.

Senior Alex Olson would continue to swing a hot bat, leading the offense finishing 2x4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI., Dylan Grove was also 2x4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.

The lone highlight on the mound was Jake Sweet who worked three strong innings in relief only surrendering one earned run.

Coach Rear reflected on the Pios' spring trip, "We had a lot of positives come out of the trip., Obviously, the way we finished left a bad taste in our mouth but that can't overshadow the fact that we are coming back a much improved team., We found answers to many of the questions we had at the beginning of the week and we know what we need to work on moving forward."

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, March 21st as they travel to Jacksonville, Illinois., The Pios will face Illinois College in a double header, the start time has been pushed back to 6pm due to field availability.,
