Box Score WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University dropped their home opener on Tuesday afternoon, falling to Wisconsin Lutheran College by the final score of 9-4.

The Pioneers found themselves in an early 4-0 hole after two and a half innings as Wisconsin Lutheran would get out of the gates quickly. However, Carroll plated a couple of runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut the lead to 4-2.

The Carroll defense would have trouble keeping WLC off the board as they would add two runs in the fourth and another in the sixth to push their lead to 7-2. The Pioneers would claw their way back into the game as they would score a pair of runs in the seventh on an RBI ground out and a two-out single by Arron Buck to get back to within 7-4.

Unfortunately, that is as close as the Pios would get as WLC added a pair of insurance runs in the ninth to seal the 9-4 victory.

Brady Durni, Alex Olson and Tyler Schovanec would each collect a pair of hit for the offense.

Carroll will return to action on Wednesday as they host UW-Superior, first pitch is scheduled for 2:30pm at Frame Park.
