WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to Wheaton College 25-14, 25-10, 25-17 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at Van Male Field House on Tuesday evening.
It was the fourth consecutive conference dual loss for Carroll, which dropped to 0-4 in the league standings and 6-16 overall.
Freshman 6-foot-2 middle blocker Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) had five kills and three blocks for Carroll. Junior outside hitter Dana Voltolina (St. Charles, Ill.) and freshman outside hitter Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) each had four kills for the Pioneers, who committed 19 errors while struggling to establish a consistent rhythm throughout the contest. Sophomore libero Rachel Harn (Freeport, Ill.) contributed two service aces, sophomore outside hitter Amanda Hahn (Itasca, Ill.) had eight digs and freshman setter Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) added 10 assists.
Senior outside hitter Shelby Knowles had eight kills, seven digs and a block to lead Wheaton, which won its second straight league dual to improve to 2-2 in conference and 7-12 overall. Junior outside hitter Katie Rohrer followed with seven kills, freshman outside hitter Madeline Moore collected six kills, sophomore libero Jessica Bosse had 15 digs and senior setter Ashley Torok added 18 assists for the Thunder.
