DE PERE, Wis. - Delaney Pruitt had an evening to remember.
Pruitt, a 5-foot-2 sophomore forward/midfielder from Ringwood, Ill., scored three goals to lead the Carroll University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over St. Norbert College in a nonconference showdown Wednesday.
It was the sixth shutout of the season and third victory in the last four games for the Pioneers, who improved to 8-3-1 overall.
Pruitt, who has nine goals on the year, scored in the 11th, 37th and 45th minutes for Carroll - which outshot St. Norbert 14-5.
Pruitt scored what proved to be the winning goal at the 11:37 mark on a hard-lining shot that bounced off of the goalkeeper and landed within the far post.
Senior forward Casey Weyhrich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) contributed an assist on Pruitt's final goal for the Pioneers.
Sophomore goalkeepers Elly Diderrich (Mukwonago, Wis.) and Sabrina Sieger (Waukesha, Wis.) combined for three saves to help preserve a shutout.
St. Norbert dropped to 5-4-1 overall.
