(Waukesha, Wis.) – The Carroll University women's lacrosse team opened the 2016 season with a 14-2 loss against Augsburg College.
 
The visitors jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Kailey Leahy netted CU's first goal of the season at 7:48 of the first half. Augsburg went into the break leading 11-1.
 
The second half proved much more competitive, with Augsburg outscoring CU by just 3-1. Ariannah Ritter scored Carroll's second goal with a strike at 50:05.
 
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday when they travel to Wilmington (OH) College for a 5 p.m. start.
