Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 APPLETON, Wis. -  Carroll University (16-18, 5-9 MWC) scored 39 runs in a double header sweep of Lawrence on Friday afternoon by final scores of 21-9 and 18-8.

In game one Carroll lead from pole to pole as they build a 17-0 lead and cruised to the 21-9 victory.  The Pioneers would pound out 19 hits in the game, including eight for extra bases.  Hunter Frey would go deep twice as he finished 2x5 with six RBI.

Senior Clayton Schmitt would record two doubles in game one, tying him for the all-time career lead in the category with 32.

Freshman Alex Morland would pick up the win on the mound working five and two-thirds innings and striking out seven.

Game two would start out rough for the Pios.  Lawrence would plate four runs in the first two innings to run out to the early 4-0 lead.

Carroll would get on the board in the top of the third as Arron Buck would double home Alex Kermendy to bring the score to 4-1.  Lawrence would continue to score runs as they would tally single runs in both the third and fourth innings to push their lead to 6-1.

The damage in the bottom of the fourth could have been much worse.  With the bases loaded and no outs the Lawrence batter lined out to Jacob Langford at third base who stepped on third to retire the runner at third and threw across the infield to record the third out of the triple play at first base.

The Pioneers would storm back in as they would plate three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take their first lead of the game 7-6.

Lawrence would continue to battle offensively as they would reclaim the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to retake the lead 8-7.

The Carroll offense would respond in a large way as they posted five runs in the top of the seventh and six in the top of the eighth inning to break open the game.

Brady Durni would be the standout at the plate finishing a perfect 3x3 with four RBI and a pair of doubles.

Danny Arden would come on to work out of a jam in the sixth inning and would be rewarded with the win on the mound.

Carroll will wrap up their season at home Saturday against Lawrence, first game of the double header scheduled for 1pm.
