Lund, Wald register double-doubles versus North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Junior forward Morgan Lund (Mondovi, Wis.) registered a double-double with a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Carroll University women's basketball team lost to North Central College 104-54 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Gregory Arena on Wednesday night.
Carroll, which trailed 48-27 at halftime, was outscored 22-12 in what became a critical momentum-shifting second quarter.
Junior point guard Brittney Wald (Antigo, Wis.) also contributed a double-double by finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Pioneers, who lost their 10th straight to drop to 1-13 in conference and 1-21 overall.
Sophomore guard Sara Hartl (Racine, Wis.) chipped in 10 points with freshman guard/forward Hannah Kloehn (Marshfield, Wis.) contributing six points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal for Carroll, which converted just one 3-point basket, 5 of 12 free throws and shot 32.9 percent from field-goal range. Freshman guard Katie Antony (Kenosha, Wis.) added five points.
North Central, which used its steady five-player rotations to gradually wear down the undermanned Pioneers, showcased its balance with 18 individuals reaching the scoring column - highlighted by three in double figures.
