MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Carroll University softball team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 8-0 in the final round of the Finlandia Dome Classic on Sunday.
It was the first loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 3-1 overall.
Sophomore right-hander Bailey Smaney pitched a two-hitter through five innings for UW-Oshkosh, which improved to 5-1 overall.
Sophomore catcher Abby Menting went 3-for-3 and drove in a run to power a nine-hit attack for the Titans, who didn't commit an error.
Freshman right-hander Lexy Kemnitzer (McFarland, Wis.) allowed five earned runs on eight hits through 3 1/3 innings in taking the pitching loss for Carroll.
