Pios win fourth straight to finish regular season

Third-seeded Carroll to host No. 6-seed North Park in opening round of CCIW tourney

DECATUR, Ill. - Junior outside hitter Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed a team-high 11 kills and four blocks to lead the Carroll University women's volleyball team to a 23-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-12 victory over Millikin University in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin regular-season finale Tuesday night.
It was the 10th four-set victory of the season for Carroll, which won its fourth consecutive dual to improve to 6-2 in the highly contested conference standings and 19-9 overall. 
The victory took on added meaning as it clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CCIW Tournament, which was expanded to a six-team field for 2018-19.
Illinois Wesleyan finished first to earn the top-seed (8-0), Carthage followed in second (7-1), Carroll took third (6-2), Millikin and Augustana tied for fourth (4-4) and North Park was sixth (3-5) to round out the field.
The Pioneers are scheduled to host sixth-seeded North Park in the opening round of the prestigious CCIW Tournament at Van Male Athletic Complex on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
Junior middle blocker Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) and senior outside hitter Josie Wierzal (Frankfort, Ill.) each followed with seven kills Carroll, which generated 45 kills with a .274 hitting percentage, 12 blocks and committed only 11 errors in the contest.
Wierzal and sophomore middle blocker Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) each collected four blocks for the Pioneers. Senior liberos Trystam Carr (Charlottesville, Va.) and Amanda Hahn (Itasca, Ill.) had nine digs each with junior setter Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) adding 20 assists.
Emily Seemiller had a team-high 15 kills for Millikin, which finished the regular season 15-18 overall.
