PLYMOUTH, Wis. - Sophomore guard
Tarren Hall (New Lisbon, Wis.) scored 14 first-half points, including four baskets from 3-point range, to lead the Carroll University men's basketball team to a 74-59 victory over Lakeland University in a nonconference game at Woltzen Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
It was the second consecutive road victory for Carroll, which improved to 4-6 overall with the dominant effort.
The Pioneers outscored Lakeland 42-26 in the momentum-shifting first half, highlighted by what proved to be a game-changing 11-3 run over the course of a critical three-minute span.
Carroll showcased its depth, balance and athleticism with 10 players reaching the scoring column, highlighted by four in double figures.
Junior guard/forward
Charlie Soule (Oregon, Wis.) contributed a team-high 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists for Carroll, which converted nine 3-pointers, 11 of 16 free throws and shot 47 percent from field-goal range.
Sophomore guard
Ryan Clarey (Pewaukee, Wis.) had 11 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds and two assists for the Pioneers, who generated 19 assists. Senior forward
Tyler Ingebrigtsen (Elk Grove, Ill.) had 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists with senior forward
Anthony Marlowe (South Milwaukee, Wis.) adding seven points, six rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore guard Jequan Pegeese finished with a game-high 18 points, five rebounds and an assist for Lakeland, which lost its second straight to drop to 6-4 overall. Junior guard Shakur Jinad had 10 points and senior guard Garrett Duffin added seven points for the Muskies, who made six 3-pointers, 19 of 28 free throws and shot 33.3 percent from the field.
