ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Carroll University softball team lost to Luther College 12-1 in a six-inning nonconference game to cap the opening day of the Luther Dome Games at the RCTC Dome on Saturday night.
Junior right fielder
Annika Graves (Muskego, Wis.) had a two-out RBI single to left field in the bottom of the third inng for Carroll, which dropped to 1-1 overall.
The game was limited to six innings as the 10-run mercy rule was enforced.
Luther led 3-1 after five innings and responded with nine unanswered runs in the top of the sixth to put the game away.
Sophomore right-hander
Amanda Osterhus (Munster, Ind.) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits with five strikeouts and five walks through five innings.
Courtney Cooper pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk in going the distance for Luther, which improved to 2-0 overall.
