Lexy Kemnitzer (McFarland, Wis.) and freshman catcher
Allyssa Demma (Orland Park, Ill.) each went 2-for-3 but the Carroll University softball team lost to Grinnell College 2-0 in a nonconference game to begin its third day of the PFX Spring Games at Hancock Park on Monday afternoon.
It was the second straight tournament loss for Carroll, which dropped to 1-4 on its Spring Break trip and 3-6 overall.
Freshman second baseman Darice Wheeler went 3-for-3 with an RBI double to center field to power a decisve two-run bottom of the third for Grinnell, which had seven hits and improved to 2-2 overall. Freshman first baseman Flynn Johnson followed with a run-scoring single.
Senior right-hander Maggie Remus was the winning pitcher, scattering five hits with two strikeouts and no walks through six complete innings.

Rachel Piontek (Green Bay, Wis.) - who was making her first collegiate start - took the loss for Carroll, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with no strikeouts and one walk through five innings.
