KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's soccer team played to a hard-fought scoreless tie with Carthage College after 110 minutes (including 90 minutes of regulation and two, 10-minute overtimes) in a double-overtime College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin opener at Art Keller Field on Saturday evening.
It was the third draw of the season for Carroll, which is currently 1-4-3 overall.
Senior forward/midfielder
Delaney Pruitt (Ringwood, Ill.) had two shots on goal for Carroll, which was outshot 22-9 in the contest - including a 9-4 shot-on-goal advantage. Senior defender
Kimmy Wiley (Kewaunee, Wis.) and freshman defender
Mattie Pusateri (Lombard, Ill.) each added a shot-on-goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) registered nine saves, highlighted by three in overtime, while playing the entire way for the Pioneers - who advanced to the prestigious CCIW Tournament the last two seasons.
Sophomore forward Libby Snyder had four shots on goal for Carthage, which is 4-2-2 overall. Freshman goalkeeper Sara Lieffrig recorded four saves for the Lady Reds.
